Getting Fatter and Adding Excuses

Ok..I am going to go out on a limb and say…We need to get off our lazy asses, put down the super large portions and get moving. I think we have more excuses on why people are fat than kids have excuses for not handing in their homework.

I can say all this because I fall in the over weight category. Wasn’t always this way, in high school I maintained a slim 135-140…then I had my son (I was inmy senior year of high school) and got LAZY. I have succeeded in staying that way for the last 12 years. Yes, getting pregnant helped add the weight but in the long run, it didn’t need to stay that way.

So now we can blame our friends, near or far. If you have gained weight it is possible that it is your friends fault. This is all according to a new study published in the New England Journal of Medicine. That is one I am not buying, I am sorry but most people jam food in their pie holes for comfort, because they are happy, sad, mad, glad…bla bla --> sounds like me! I LOVE anything chocolate, sweet, salty, cheesy and fried. I don’t think my friends or my friends friend’s sister's uncle's mother or brother are to blame for what I love to eat and how much of it I choose to cram in my mouth.

Don't forget that the fat rolls down hill as well. If you are lazy and eat and eat, your kids look at that and do the same thing. Kids learn by example. So now we have created some more fat people. Now the whole world wants to know why there are so many fat and lazy kids. Well with the age of video games and computers they have all stopped going outside to play. Going outside would force children to use their imaginations to have fun. Why bother when they can sit inside and play video games.

Amen, sister. It's a load of crap, people looking for excuses to blame the fatty-fatty-2x4 syndrome on, starting with genetics and now ending with your friends. People have spent decades picking on Richard Simmons but I for one have immense respect for the man and what he's overcome and tries to help share with others.

I'm still waiting to lose my baby weight. Sadly, my youngest is 10. I love the new one (which I sent to all my friends and declared "This is my story and I'm sticking to it") Air Conditioning is making us fat. It states because our bodies no longer have to suffer through heat changes, it is making us fat. Personally I was sure it was that and not the Hoagie Haven Cheese Steak Hoagie I ate.

I have been trying to send my kids out to play. You would think I was committing some kind of child abuse. In their defense, I must say that kids today do not have the same freedoms that we did. My Mother would send me outside in the morning and basically wouldn't see me until dinner time. My friends all say the same thing. We had the freedom to explore.
