Out of No Where

So my ceel phone has been busy the last few days. Call are coming in left and right from the long, lost parent and his wife.. That's right, Z's Dad and stepmom have decided once again that maybe Z should be a part of thier lives.

It all started with a call about Z's birthday, he is turning 13 in ten days (oof, already?) and we are haveing a party for him and I thought it would be appropriate for his sister's to be there. I never expected it to turn into much more than that, but it has.

I was talking with his father on Tuesday, who apparently has alot to say cause he decided that we need to sit down and talk this weekend. While I was on the phone with him, his wife calls. She called to ask if Z could go with the girls and have a family photo done with them! Holy shit (really my first thought) this is a completly new revalation. He has never been included in the picture with the girls, not one! So, I told her I would call back, I was on the other line. I spoke with his dad some more and we decided that we would sit down and chat. Quite honestly, I wanted to ask if she was feeling okay!

I called C (stepmom) back and we talked for a little while and I expressed my feeling about the 3 years (atleast) of lost time. We agreed that even though alot has happened that for Z's sake we needed to out the past behind us and move on. I explained that it will not be that easy for Z, that he is the one who has been most hurt by this situation and that they will need to sit down, talk with him and that an apology is due and most nessacary!

If you remember, Z's dad did not speak to him on Christmas Eve and I think that Z was hiding the pain. He was given and opprotunity to talk with his dad and he said no! I sat down and talked with Z and explained that if he really wanted to have a relationship with him, he needed to atleast start talking over the phone. I was very proud of him, last night he did talk to his dad, alot of joking, nothing serious, but I certainly expect A (dad) to man up and apologize to Z. My son has been very angry with his dad and he should not just sweep it under the carpet!

So after atleast a 3 year absense, Dad has stormed into Z's life!

For Sale-ummm..NO FREE to good home

Can I sell my husband? Actually I am willing to give him away to the first person and or person's who want him. Not really sure what he will do to help around the house, really depends on how mad you get. Don't let him clean to much cause then he will act like the whole world should bow down to him and give him praise.

As for the laundry, that is a no-no, he will mix colors and white, throw things that don't belong in the drier, in the drier. Not his clothes though, he makes sure that his non drierables <--is not really a word, don't go in the drier.

He doesn't like to get up in the morning by himself so you will also need to be the personal alarm clock, the lunch lady to make his lunch, the valet service to move the truck so you can get your car out of the garage.

Seasons Are Changing

I love it when I come out of work at 5 pm and have the chance to see a sunset like this. It just re enforces that Spring is on it's way and the dark evenings of Winter soon going to be a thing of the past.

Can I Go To The Bookstore?

Z called me yesterday at wok and asked if he could go to the new book store that just opened in out town. I just about fell over, Z go to a book store? Thanks Goodness!!

Z and two of his friends hoped on their bikes and rode over there. I guess his school was doing some sort if fundraiser with a new bookstorethat just opened. The school was really promoting that the kids and their families go there, so that must mean there was a catch. You bet your ass their was a catch! Apparently you make your purchase and the bookstore tacks on another 20% to your final bill. That 20% goes to the school...whoa, why doesn't the bookstore give 20% of their final sales for the day?? You have to add on another 20% to the consumer? Don't get me wrong, I think the community should get involved in school fundraising but so should the businesses. So needless to say, after the cost of the book, the taxes and the 20% add on, Z did not have enough money to purchase the book he wanted! Seeing as it is a book he wants, I guess I will go and get it for him anyways..

Come Again?

Last night I was washing dishes after dinner and my husband come trotting in and says

"We are going to R's house to watch the Super Bowl."

I asked "Who is going?"

He replied and was very demanding about it. "We all are!"

At that very moment I think I broke the handle off the Kohler sinks knobs.

"Come again." I said.

He said it again, as if he was my father "We are all going to R's house to watch the Super Bowl."

"OK, let's look at this situation for a minute." I said. "First of all, I will be 32 years old in a couple of weeks, so don't mistake me for your daughter who is 8! Secondly, I have no interest in watching the Super Bowl and I have even less of an interest in listening to R's 3 year old mad man of a child. This kid has never been disciplined, he just completely off the wall. Thirdly, I don't want to listen to his wife bitch and scream at the kid cause she can't feed him anything but junk and he can't stay still for 5 minutes! Last but not least, as great as R is, he is loud, annoying and you can never get a word in. If YOU would like to go watch the Super Bowl, go right ahead, but don't ever demand that I must go too!! Listening to that family is the last thing I want to do on MY Sunday afternoon."

Nothing plucks my nerve more than someone telling me what I am going to do, espcially when it comes to making me watch football!

It's Official!

Z had the day off from school yesterday, so he stayed up late Sunday night and boy was it late! My husband who has been a little under the weather for the last week said he was on the phone till 4 am! LOL..4 am. I guess he if officially falling into teenagerhood quite well!

I kinda gather he was up late, I went into his room to shut his tv off at 5 am and I found him asleep with the phone against his ear...LOL. I remember those days. It really amazes me how quickly time has passed and everyday that little boy turns more and more into a man. I knew that it would happen, just never realized how quick it would be.

On another note, I hope all is well with everyone..I haven't been around as much as usual, between looking at condos for sale and my new adventure approving blogs at a traffic generating site for blogs, I have been quite busy. I have lurked around all of your blogs, just haven't been around as much as I would like. Soon enough I will be back to my normal rounds and until then, keep blogging, just not to much cuz I will have a lot of catching up to do!!

Mustard Anyone?

Grey Poupon was kind enough to send out two different flavors of their mustards and they also wanted my honest opinion. The first one I took out of the package was the Harvest Coarse Ground and it kind freaked me out. At first I thought I had received a bad batch, I thought the factory forgot to finish the process. It looks like there are whole mustard seeds in it. I immediately thought it would be hard and crunchy. When I finally tried it I found it to be the opposite. The seeds were not hard, but they had a little texture to them. This mustard was spicy, you get a little kick from it. Not my favorite for a sandwich or a hot dog but I am sure it would be great for a recipe.

The other one they sent was the Hearty Spicy Brown. This one was by far my favorite! I was smooth and creamy, it went well with my hotdog. It was not overly spicy and with the hint of horseradish, I must say it was perfect! I was a little surprised that it was nat as spicy as the Harvest Coarse Ground. My son tried this one with me and he wasn't really fond of it. He knew right away that there was horseradish in it! I love horseradish so it made the flavor experience all that much better for me.

All in all they were not bad, both very good and for different reasons.

Valentine's Day Is On Its Way

Hey that rhymed!!

We all know what the next holiday is right?? It is for all the lover's in the world...Valentine's Day. I shouldn't say it is for the lover's in the world, my son used to give out Valentine's at school..LOL and he was only 6.

So guys, what are you going to give your wife's, girlfriends or lover's?? My husband always gives me a box of chocolates and a gift card to my favorite store. I go buy what ever I want, usually I just look at all the sexy bustiers and think how I would never be able to wear one. I might have a roll or two popping out at the bottom!! I head right for the the bra's and stuff!! I know..TMI, maybe this year he will change it up a bit..it has become very predictable.

So what are you going to get your significant other?

Don't I Look Great?

I was sitting here the other day thinking back to my sister in laws wedding. I remember that day clearly because a gentleman my husband worked with (he was a friend too) had passed away and his funeral was that same exact day. Boy that day was sure something.

After the funeral we stopped home to freshen up and we were going to go to a have a drink at a new restaurant by our house before going to the wedding. My husband pull out a set of cufflinks and a tie clip to put on. He comes out of the room and asks me to help him with the cufflinks and I look at the tie clip and was appalled. It was the uglied thing I had ever seen in my life.

"Where did you get that?" I asked.

"My Dad let me borrow it, I don't have any." he replied (we aren't very fancy people!)

I didn't say anything.. at first and then I finally asked "Are you really going to wear that?"

"Yes, why? Isn't it cool?" he added.

"No, it is the ugliest thing I have ever seen." I stated.

"It is from my dad's union, I like it and besides my dad is going to be pissed if I don't wear it now." he whined.

So I replied with "Okay, first of all we went out and bought you a really nice suit, mind you it wasn't cheap and that thing doesn't exactly go with the suit. Secondly, you don't work for the union so you don't need to wear it and thirdly, I am your wife, not your dad and that thing is ugly, if you dad liked it so much why isn't he wearing it?"

That was pretty much the end of the discussion! He took the hideous thing off his tie and we went on with our day.

My Husband

What can I say about him?? LOL...

He has had it rough for the past week. He ended up in the emergency room Sunday. His blood pressure dropped to low. That was scary that's for sure. The on Wednesday, he had to have an abscess removed. So he has been home almost all week.

Now he is driving my nuts!! He is bored, has no one to talk to, is tired of laying around and the list goes on. I am sure glad I don't have to stay home with him. I would have already stuffed a gag in his mouth..oh wait, that is still a possibility! LOL....j/k.

Over Worked & Underpaid

That's what I feel like.....LOL

Maybe I could shrink this image down and get it on some personalized pens with my blog URL and just leave them around! Leave them everywhere, everywhere for the world to find. No, I am not losing my mind..yet! My new boss is killing me..I am so far behind on work and no overtime to get it completed. I already squeeze 50 hours of work into a 40 hour work week and he wants to keep dumping more reports on me! UGH!

So Enough

Ohhh... I can't wait for winter to be over. I am sick of the cold and having to be cooped up in the house. I miss having my windows open, so the fresh air can come in and most of all I miss Z going outside! I know, it will come to an end very soon and I certainly can not wait!

For Me?

Work has been crazy lately, new boss, alot more work , new small business phone systems that really are nice but IT is taking for ever to get things right so it makes working a bit harder. I am pooped out by the time I get home and when I get home my second fulltime job starts, it is called Z! He has been really good lately all things considered.

So my boss asked me how old Z was now and I said almost 13. He asked me if he had a computer. I wish, he always uses mine! Apparently his 80 year old mother in law had one and the operating system crashed and she decided that she didn't want to bother getting it fixed. If I wanted it all I had to do was have it repaired. Ok, sure. It was only a few years old and it came with a flat screen and printer. Sweet, I thought, Z will be excited.

Now I am not computer expert but I do know how to do somethings. So I told Z I had something in the car and that I needed help with it. He drilled me about what it was and I told him I couldn't tell him.

"Awww..is it groceries?" he asked.

"Ummm, no. I have been home for 2 hours, wouldn't be groceries!" I replied.

So we go out to the garage and I open the trunk and he looks in there and says "What is that, a new computer?"

"Yes"

"Mom, you got a new computer?"

"Well, kinda. Not brand new but new to you."

He gave me a slightly goofy look and asks "Is that for me?"

"Yes"

Needless to say he freaked out, jumping up and down and obviously very excited! So I explained the deal and told him that I might have to have it looked at. He didn't care, he had his own computer, so what if it didn't work!!

To make a already long story short...I got online, looked around and found out that if you hit "Ctrl & F11" it restarts the system. Well, my boy now has his very own working computer!! See ya later Sims, you are being deleted today!

Where Does It Go?

You know what I just realized? One month from tomorrow my son will be 13 years old! It seems just like yesterday that he was born and in one month he will officially be a teenager! Where does the time go?

Here I am, at work, supposed to be figuring out this new business performance management software for my boss and all I can think about is how old I am getting..LOL. I just happen to turn 32 next month as well...Damn it! Maybe I can lie and stay 30 until I turn 40 and so on…

Curious Are Ya?

I recently posted how I was excited that my mom..(luv ya mom) came to my blog and read it. I was asked why I was happy about that and here my response...

First of all it's my mom, she is my best friend and there is nothing I wouldn't tell her. Plus her living over 4 hours away, it gets kinda hard to keep up on current events.

If you have the pleasure to know me in person, you will know that I am very straight forward. I pull absolutely no punches and if you ask me for my opinion, I will give you the most honest answer or opinion that I think one can handled. I have no secrets from my family, friends or anyone else for that matter. People know that I will tell them what I think in person. If they don't want to read it, then they won't and if they have a problem with it, I really don't care.

I really need a vacation, I am going to check out Wilmington NC real estate and see if there is something I can rent, oh wait, I just had 11 days off from work...*sigh*...maybe I will just have wishful thoughts..

I Am So Excited

my Mom finally posted a comment on my blog! Not sure how long she has been reading, but it is nice to know she is checking in!

My computer is driving me nuts, something is running in the back ground and it keeps kicking in what sounds like a motor...LOL. I know absolutely nothing about what makes a computer run, maybe it is that hard drive thing or just a fan. Not really sure! But it is doing it more than it has ever done and I wish it would stop!

The Young and Famous

Boy all these young stars are kind of off the hook lately. In and out of trouble, in and out of alcohol and drug rehab. When does it all stop?

Britney Spears is in the news again...surprise, surprise. I don't really feel sorry for her, if she can't keep her act together then she deserves all that happen but man, just leave her alone. I know part of being famous is having everyone in your business and when you are careless about your life they dig for more. Does it make it right..no! Privacy is important and if you have no privacy, what do you have? What makes it okay for then to harass her, nose into her life? Because she is famous? I personally think she really needs to pack up and move, get her crap together and learn to behave. For now, it doesn't look like that is going to happen, but I hope it does. Those poor little boys....

The Clothes Hanger

With the new year here I figured that that I may actually start using that piece of exercise equipment that I have. As of right now it looks more like a clothes hanger than anything else! I find it amusing that I could have bought the damn thing, used it and then slowly stop using and allowed it to be used as something it was not intended for. What is the matter with me?? My goal for this weekend is to take the clothes off and then ride that damn bike everyday for atleast a half an hour!

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve is always interesting here in my house. Mostly because my family is a blended family. Z lives with me and my husband and my husband's daughter lives with her mother. His parents are divorced and mine....thank goodness ARE still married.

I give Z the decision to spend Christmas Eve with his family up to him. As far as I am concerned he is old enough to make that decision. He always decides to go to his grandfather's house, which is usually fine with me, but not fine with my husband. This year however, I had a slight problem with it too. Z has always been sort of the black sheep of the family, lucky to see his grandparents once during the summer, always on Christmas Eve and if he is lucky, he will get a call on his birthday. His father however, has chosen not to have anything to do with him for the last 4 years or so. The only time he has seen him is on Christmas Eve when the whole family gets together.

Last Christmas his father was in jail..got caught not once, but twice drinking and driving. The amusing part of all that.. IT WAS IN THE SAME NIGHT!! Can we say IDIOT!! Very obvious that Z did not see him that year. So now it has been two years since he has seen his dad and the asshole could not even say hello to his own kid!!! He was in the same hous with him for four hours and did not say one word to him, not one! What kinda shit is that??

Oh My..

it is freakin cold out there this morning..I think it's "colder than a witch's tit". Well that is what we used to say in high school! Anywho, the temperature on the TV says it is 10 degrees F out and my husband says it feels colder than that. We have the temperature gage in the truck, but he didn't stick around to look at it!

Warmer days are coming, they said it was supposed to be up to 50 degrees F in a couple of days..we'll see!
