So as per my usual Sunday routine, I have to tell step-daughter every step of getting ready for church. You would think at 7 years old that you would start to know the routine. Get up, take a shower, brush your hair, brush your teeth, brush your hair and so on. So while my husband sleeps his drunk off from the night before, I am the one stuck making sure she is ready for when Grama gets her to take her and my son to church. Give me a break..you already know what need to be done, so just do it!! Just for once I would like him to get up and tell her what she needs to do. Heck, she is his kid not mine. But seeing as your husband get drunk the night before it really falls onto you. If I don't make sure she is ready then I am the bad guy. Either way you look at it I am the bad guy, in her eyes I am just being mean and bossy so it is a no win situation!
I Was Watching
The Today Show on NBC 30 this morning and was watching a segment about how the rich are getting richer but the middle class American gets a pay raise and it barely covers the cost of the rising energy costs. I know all about that, I'm not even sure if I fall in the middle class range. I make more that minimum wage but I can tell you if the minimum wage rate keeps rising, they will be making the same as me in a few years. So anyways, they were saying that the rich are so rich they are giving money away. Hey if your rich and want to give away your money, I could use some!!
So I was doing some reading about Bill and Melinda Gates. The have The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. As I was reading I was thinking about all the wonderful things they have done with their money. They are truly blessed to be able to help people. Well I as I keep reading, I get to the last few parts of the article to a a paragraph about criticisms. We all know this country still has huge racial problems and something that really plucked a nerve for me was the fact that The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, which offers college scholarships, only offer those to African American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian, Pacific Islander American or Hispanic American applicants.[7] Because the program focuses on racial and ethnic minorities. They exclude Caucasians. Now why would you do that?? My family wasn't rich and could never afford for me to go to college either. Now I have a 12 year old son and probably will never be able to afford to send him to college. So if you are middle class you can't get a scholarship and if you are white you can't get a scholarship, so where does that leave things? How many other programs are set up that way? Just because we are a Caucasian family doesn't mean that we are anymore well off than any other family of a different race!

I have a 12 year old son who seems to be addicted to pornos. Last night my husband and I watched The Sopranos which our cable company offers OnDemand. When the show was over it shows the list of saved programs. So we see this title of some porno..I was like WTF and asked my husband if he order it. He said no..BUT..he as well loves porn. So I kinda didn't believe my husband because I know most payperview shows are available for 24 hours. It was 11:00 pm...so I thought maybe he ordered it the night before after I went to bed. He said no..bla bla. So I checked the cable bill online this morning and guess what...It was my son!!! He ordered it yesterday at 5:15 pm. That is usually when I am getting home, well yesterday I had to return movies so I wasn't there. So needless to say we finally had to use the parental locks. So now I don' know what to do. This isn't the first time we had this problem and I am sure that he is curious about sex and we talk to him about it. It it is not like we have ignored the fact that he is going through puberty!! So now I feel like I have a little pervert in my house..LOL

I read the transcript of the voicemail that Alec Baldwin left for his daughter. I am thinking, could be wrong, that this little girl Ireland must pull this stunt quite often. He sounds so angry to have it be a first incident or even a second. Let me tell you, me as a parent of a 12 year old, I can totally understand how he feels. No, he shouldn't have called her a pig, but maybe this little girl needs to hear things how they really are. I'm sure many of these children have their whole lives sugar-coated and now it is time to face the music. Learn a little R-E-S-P-E-C-T. Good for you Alec Baldwin, it is about time someone stood up to their rich snot-nosed kid! Children need to learn respect and it is very apparent that this little girl has little or no respect for her father. From the way things sound maybe she learned it from her mother. Question is.. Why did Kim Basinger released this voicemail message? She already has a nasty custody battle and knows he has a bad temper and I guess this is a way to publically humilate him. Kids a pawns...
Talk About a Smack In The Face
This morning as I am getting ready to walk out the door, my husband informs me that he is going to quit smoking. This all comes due to the death of his Uncle who died from lung cancer. Ok I thought, I smoke as well so I know how hard it is to quit. If you look further down in the blog I made an attempt not to long ago. So then he says "No more smoking in the house." I looked at him and thought "You stupid fuck, how dare you say that to me. When I tried to quit you kept smoking." So I said" Hmmm, wish you felt that way when I tried to quit!" Then I walked out the door. I hate such double standards. How come it is ok for him to smoke in the house when I try to quit, but I can't smoke in the house when he wants to quit. Well, needless to say. I talked to him at lunch time and he was screaming about how he needed to stop for cigarettes!!
Finally
Today was the most beautiful day. After a week of rain and long cold spell we here in CT finally get some sun and warm weather!!! It made it up to almost 70 degrees. What makes it even nicer is I took a 1/2 a day at work and my husband is gone for the weekend!! There is absoutly no tension in the air and I love it!

Perfume At Work
HOLY CRAP...CAN YOU POSSIBLY WEAR ANYMORE PERFUME? I walk into my office at work and it smells like the perfume counter at Filene's. My office is located off the inspection room. I have 2 office mates, one being a guy, so I know it didn't belong to him and a older lady who doesn't bath in perfume. In the inspection room there are 2 more guys, and again being men, don't wear perfume either. Well there are some sizing machines in the room as well and low and behold there is a lady in there working. JACKPOT!! Get a grip lady, normal people don't need that fuckin' much perfume! Now if I thought my office was over bearing it is 200% worse out there. Shouldn't there be a law as to how much perfume someone can wear? I mean when you just about get a instant headache from the smell, that's a problem.

Cat's and Eating
I am not really sure but I think my cat has issues with food. Yes it sounds crazy but I am totally serious.
I have 2 cats, there is Emmit and Miss Kitty, that is who this is about. Miss Kitty is a 15 lb eating machine and she gets fatter all the time.
In the middle of the night Sunday/Monday they ran out of food in their bowls. So when I got up a 5 am Monday morning I fill the bowls like normal. Now, Miss Kitty who acts like the world is going to end if she can see the bottom, ran up and just literally ate until she barfed. I couldn't believe it, as if they haven't run out of food before. I was making my lunch and I heard this awful noise coming from the pantry. When I went in there I found Miss Kitty next to 2 piles of half eaten cat food. Amazing! She has always had this fear of not having enough food and I often wonder if it started back when she was a kitten at the pet store. So now I am at a loss of what to do about this and figure it is time for some sort of food control.

This Weekend
I know I shouldn't be happy about this but I am. My husband and I have had problems for quite sometime. He is going away this weekend and I am thrilled. I feel bad because he has a funeral to go to but it will be nice to have some alone time. My son will be there of course but it will be nice to have the tension gone for a couple of days. What is going on in this world? Another school shooting. 31 dead up from 22 dead. 50 people total, including the shooter.It is not an excusable act but it makes me wonder, what makes people snap like this? What could others have done to him to make him target specific people. We often make people like this out to be the bad guy, but I am sure often times there is a reason. Are these people picked on or made to feel as if they are worthless? I guess we will never know and I am sure that lots of them take it to the grave.
What is going to happen to this country if these acts of violence continue? We seem to have our own issues but yet we as a nation are of trying to fix the countries problems. What can't we start at home for once. Take care of our people, worry about our troubles.

I am so sick of the weather. Why can't we just get one nice day? Is this crappy weather ever going to end? I was happy to see winter go, but yet it is still not the nice weather we would all love to enjoy. It is depressing, wake up in the morning and it is nasty out. West Hartford Cancels Veterans Day Off For Students
Everynight on my way home from work I listen to 106.9 WCCC's Picozzi In the Afternoon. As usual they were up to their usual antics and start talking about West Hartford, CT. I live in West Hartford so I turned my radio up so that I wouldn't miss a word. So anyways, they start talking about how West Hartford Schools will no longer have Veterans Day off. What is up with that?? They have swapped the day off with Election Day. I think it is a holiday that has been long standing and should not be changed. I know..I don't get the day off from work either.
I didn't get to read the letter to the editor but I guess it is due to parking issues. Parking issues!! There are parking issues at my job, I don't get to change things if I have to park at the end of the parking lot. Get a grip, there are parking issued just about everywhere you go.
Now I have never been proud to say I live in West Hartford, actually I think the town kinds sucks. My husband was raised in West Hartford and wanted to stay. Now I know for sure that it really sucks..

Sigh
This weekend was very long. Happy to be back at work. Yesterday we found out that my husbands uncle was give about a week to live. Very sad, he has lung cancer. This morning my husband calls em to let me know that the doctors believe that he could pass very soon. My mother in law is leaving today and my husband will leave soon. I feel bad for him, although they were not close, it is still hard to lose a family member.
So it's 4 pm (that post up there is from this morning) and I found out my husbands uncle past away earlier this afternoon. My mother in law never made it up to see him, which stinks. I feel bad for her..she never go to see alot of him so I think that makes thing a little harder. Well Uncle Donny...Rest in Piece..I am glad I got to meet you.
