Deadbeat Parents

I read this story on my local new stations' website. It seems that Child support agencies in other states have come up with some ingenious ways to finds deadbeat parents. From putting wanted styles posters in utility bills and now on pizza boxes. I think it is a great idea. Why can't Connecticut come up with ideas like this? I have been fighting for child support for my son for years....12 long years. I know these agencies have limited people to work on the cases. But man, I can remember not getting child support for months. Supposedly there is a red flag in the system when there have been no payments for 4 consecutive weeks. I have waited 8 weeks and called and they seemed to be oblivious to the fact that no payments have been received. It then takes months to get a court date and then if the father doesn't show up, a capias is issued then you wait months for the arrest. I know first hand, I waited for my son's father to be picked up on a capias for over 2 years.
So why not ask the general public for help, these children deserve what is owed to them and I hope that the great state of Connecticut follows suit. They need as much help as they can get.

Sleep problems

My father in laws girlfriend suffers from sleep apnea. He doctor suggested she lose weight and when she did and her snoring didn’t get better she went to have her nose reconstructed. When that didn’t work she need to get a Continuous Positive Airway Pressure Machine. She finds wearing it extremely embarrassing due to the look of it and the amount of noise it makes but if she wants for feel fresh, revived and live to see another day then she must use it. I have heard her say on several occasions that she was glad to have found something to help her sleep better even though it is not so attractive.
I often wish my husband felt that way. When he snores it is some scary!!! There have been times were I thought for sure he was dead. He would take in long deep breaths and then stop. Almost as if he was holding his breath, this could last as long as 10 seconds, and then he would exhale. He refuses to go to the doctor to get help and some mornings I am afraid he will not wake up. He is a truck driver and sometimes stops to take naps during the day. I often wonder if he has just slept so bad that he is exhausted. I have never done much reading or research on sleep apnea but, from what I have read today, I think that I will push my husband to go and see his doctor. They say sleep apnea that goes untreated can increase the chance of having high blood pressure, heart attack or stroke. I personally would like to have my husband around for awhile.

Disturbing isn't the word for this....

I came across this during my morning coffee and surf time. We all make redneck jokes but this one takes the cake. A man in Wisconsin gets probation for having sexual contact with a deer. How sick do you have to be? Are you that sexually inadequate that you need to turn to animals? I know these type of things have gone on long before my time but the kicker is the fact that they are going to treat him as a sex offender. I am only guessing but I am pretty sure that he will be financially burdened as well and the tax payers of Wisconsin will be flipping the bill for this as well. I would be outraged if I had to pay for a man who has sexual contact with animals to be evaluated as a sex offender.

Prepaid cell phones..

Why do you have yours?
I am one of (probably) several people that use a prepay cell phone. I actually switched from a regular monthly bill service to a prepaid phones
What I was finding was that I never used the amount of minutes I was given for the monthly fee and even with rollover minutes I just never seemed to use them all up. When I switched from regular monthly bill to prepay I saved myself about $39 a month and I use my phone no more or less than before. So for me it has been a fairly good choice. I spend $15 a month and if I call someone with the same service as me, then I am charged one dollar and can talk to them for an unlimited amount of time for the next 24 hours. (Similar to mobile to mobile.) For all other calls I get charged 10 cents a minute. I also think that prepaid cell service is a great option to teach children on the importance of using your phone responsibly. Having a cell phone doesn’t mean that you can just call people when ever you feel like it. If you go over your monthly minutes allowed by your plan then you will be charged for those minutes. With all the options we have today...why not consider using a prepaid service.
