So I haven't told anyone and I mean NO ONE about my obsession with the show Rock of Love with Brett Michaels on VH1. I am so addicted to this show and I don't quite know why. I think it has something to do with the catty, bitchy, back stabbing girls that are on the show. These girls have been terrible to each other. It is always a good laugh.
Well tonight it will be all over...Bret has weeded the girls down to 2. He had some real doozies on that show. He had a psycho named Lacey, a dumbass named Brandi and even an old broad named Dallas who had done it all. I had my fav's though. One of them is in the final 2, that is Jes and other one that is left is a stripper named Heather. Who will he pick to be his girl?? I hope Jes..I mean there is nothing wrong with Heather, but I guess I just prefer Jes.
Through out this show I have often wondered why the lead singer of Poison would need to do a reality tv show. Come on, that is for washed up and broke stars....Is he broke, bored, lonely? I mean there is a million different reasons but I would really like to know why!!!
Well, I am off to take care of a few things..
Rock of Love..the end

Black Friday Is On It's Way..
Holidays are on their way...eekk first food holiday - Thanksgiving. I do have a way to work off all the extra food I eat though. Normally I would be walking around or maybe running, the stores on Black Friday! Like everybody, I like a good deal and I am defiantly looking for them this year.
But I have discovered something new. A few sites allow you to shop on Black Friday right from the comfort of your own home! No angry crowds, no screaming children and defiantly no doubt that you may not get what you went to the store for.
I am most interested in getting a new T.V. The one in my living room really needs to be replaced and my son could use a new one in his room as well. I have been peeking at these thanksgiving ads and found that Best Buy is one of the stores that is participating in the shop from home Black Friday. From what is on that list..I think I can get most of my shopping done that day!!
They are offering a 42” Panasonic Plasma T.V. for $999.99! My husband would sure love to see that hanging on the wall Christmas morning. They are offering everything from box sets to memory sticks. They even have deals on select DVD's for $2.99 If you want to plan your shopping trip to Best Buy, click the link and get a sneak preview.

Too Many Tattoos, Not Enough Dates?
Ladies are you covered with tattoos? Do you go on date after date and every man you meet makes you feel like a freak of nature? Do they ask you why you have all those tattoos? Do you hide them before each date because your not sure how they will feel about you??
Well, girl’s be proud and show them off!! Instead of feeling as if you have to hide them from a perspective lover who may not accept them, you can show them off. Search through 1000’s of tattoo personals to find a man that shares the same interests, hopefully more than tattoo’s, as you. It really shouldn't be about tattoo dating! It should be about dating you as a person. There is no need to hide your true self from a date. You will find men who share your passion for body art. So what are you waiting for? Go and check out tattoo personals, you never know who you will find.
Quiet Friday Night
It was laid back and quiet night last night. Z went to a classmates house and stayed over. It is defiantly nice to see him make friends and have people to hang out with. There are 2 boys in his class that live on this side of town. The 3 of them have been just about inseparable.
Last night I went over to meet the boys' mother. She seemed very friendly and nice but at the same time I got the impression that she takes no crap. She shouldn't either, considering her and her husband have 5 kids. EEEEk!! She told me that I was welcome to stop over anytime when Z was over there. No call necessary, just show up. That was a very reassuring comment, I felt very confident after the 20 minute meeting that things would be ok.
This year seems to be going as it should, good start in school, making friends and having fun!

I'm A Little Dumbfounded
My husband did not go to his class Wednesday. No surprise! He actually went to his friends house and pretty much got bombed because he did not go to work yesterday, he said he wasn't feeling good.
He tried to reassure me that everything was fine. I asked if he knew for sure whether or not this place wouldn't make the call to DCF about him not following the recommendation and this is what he said "No I don't know, but do you think I wouldn't go if my mom didn't say it would be fine. I already checked with her and she said the case is closed."
Do you see anything odd in that statement? I found a few things..
#1. He is going to be 31 in 6 days. You still need your moms approval?
#2. How would his mom know the case is closed? Because she works for DCF as a social worker!
#3. In light of #2, how comforting is it to know that a representative of the state and our states children is giving advice to her family member to go against the recommendation of an agency who is supposed to protect our children.
#4. Again, why would you listen to your mom.
What bothers me the most is, she has been after him since last summer to seek help. She herself is a recovering alcoholic and she knows the importance of this. I know people only do things when they want and not when forced to, but my husband didn't even make an effort, he went to one f'in class. Because his mommy said he didn't have to go.
I have never liked that bitch and have had very little respect for her in the past. Now, I have absolutely no respect for her and as a mandated reporter for the state shame on her!! She has helped destroy my family a little bit quicker.
Unfortunately over vacation I said that if he didn't follow through then ultimately the marriage would be over. She said "You'd better leave now then." I should have known..

Korn Concerts In 2008
Are you looking for concert tickets? I know I was and came across a site in Europe that looked pretty neat. I like to check out what is happening in other parts of the world so I decided to check it out.
The site called viagogo.co.com and if you are in Europe and are checking this out, you may want to take a peak. This site is Europe’s leading ticket hub. You can buy or sell sports tickets, concert tickets as well as arts and theater tickets. That is a very nice selection of events.
I decided that I was going to look around and see where else in the world some of my favorite bands were playing. One band that is coming to Europe in January of 2008 is Korn. If you are not sure who Korn is, check them out on the internet. All I know is they are one of my most favorite rock bands, well they are a heavy metal band. I just happen to love the music. Anyways, Korn will be at six different venues in the following cities - Manchester, London, New Castle, Birmingham or Plymouth! Therefore, if you know who Korn is and you want to check out one of their shows, keep an eye out for tickets on sale and if you have tickets and cannot go for some reason, you can sell them too.

Temper Is Rising
Right now I am so hot temper right now with my husband that you could actually sell me off as a piece of Arizona real estate . I am angry, disappointed, frustrated and just plain fed up. I don't know if he is trying to prove something to me. What he really needs to do is grow up!!
I don't know if he went to that class like he should have last night. He never came home after work and really I have no idea what time he did come home. I have no time for his childish games. It seems very apparent to me that he has no intentions of trying to make things right. So be it, I guess it is time for a reality check.
Tonight's The Night
Who is to say what is about to happen. My husband is supposed to go to a class on Wednesday nights. After what down this summer he was required to go to AA classes. It's a 3 strike program and tonight will be strike 3 if he does not go.
It really pisses me off because he didn't even make an effort to go. He missed the 1st one, not his fault but it is still considered a strike. He went the 2nd time but had beer waiting for him when he got home. He didn't go to the third one and the 4th one is tonight.
So with all that happened this summer, if he does not go tonight, I will have no choice but to ask him to move out. I can't risk losing my son because he chooses to do what he feels like. I guess we fall 2nd best to booze...

Patches
A completely random post…
At work yesterday a bunch of us ladies were talking about different weight loss strategies and how many of them are out there. You can go on a million of different diets, exercise plans, take pills..etc. One that came up was hoodia. I guess now there is a hoodia patch. Curiosity always gets the best of people but amazingly, no one has ever tried it. Do you know any one who has?
Hope This Isn't A Set Back...
Z's counselor at school is pregnant with twins and has been told that she must stay off her feet for the last couple of months. Today at school they are having a little party for her. Last night Z and I went to the store and he got her a card for the class to sign and some flowers. He also made a pasta salad for the party..
This morning was a little crazy, we had to make sure he had everything that he needed before the bus came.
While he was getting his stuff together he said" Mrs. K will be gone for 6 months. I wish she didn't have to go."
I replied "Well, she needs to do what is best for her and the babies so she needs to."
He came back with " I know, I just don't like it. Why 6 months?"
So I asked him "Well, who do you think will take care of the babies if she doesn't?"
"I don't know" he replied "I just wish she didn't have to leave."
I feel bad for him, he has done so well so far and I would hate for him to fall back. I hope he had a chance to get to know the person who will be filling in for her.

Who Doesn't Like to Make New Friends.
I know I do...have you heard of wireclub.com? Neither have I till today!! Wireclub.com offers free chat rooms for making friend or finding love. I don’t know about finding love, but they do have a Dating forum.
It was pretty easy to sign up with them, just need some basic information and you are in. Once you have signed up with wireclub.com you can set up your profile, add a picture (if you want), start another blog, join a club or hit the chat forums. I found that they didn’t offer much in the way of chat forums but there are several clubs that you could join.
The chat rooms are pretty basic, the offer 3. General chat, where I would probably spend most of my time, dating, for those of you looking for a date or wireclub help, that would be where to go if you need help!! As if you didn’t already figure that out!!
As far as clubs go, well you can join in a club ranging from Indoor Activities to Pets and Animals. There are literally thousands to choose from. If you wanted to start your own club, well you can do that too. You can make one for just you and your family or your friends to chat in. It would be a nice way to stay in touch. So if you are looking for free chat rooms check out WireClub.com

Monday Afternoon Mischief
A husband, tired of his wife asking him how she looks, buys her a full length mirror. This does little to help, as now she just stands in front of the mirror, looking at herself, asking him how she looks.
One day, fresh out of the shower, she is yet again in front of the mirror, now complaining that her breasts are too small. The husband comes up with a suggestion. “If you want your breasts to grow, then every day take a piece of toilet paper, and rub it between your breasts for a few seconds.”
Willing to try anything, the wife fetches a piece of toilet paper, and stands in front of the mirror, rubbing it between her breasts. “How long will this take?” she asks.
“They’ll grow larger over a period of years,” he replies.
The wife stops. “Why do you think rubbing a piece of toilet paper between my breasts every day will make my breasts grow over the years?”
The husband shrugs. “Why not, it worked for your ass, didn't it?”
Time To Make A Decision
I had really interesting conversation with my mom last night. We talked about the usual going ons. But there was one piece that really stuck out in my mind.
Over the summer Z and my niece went up to my parents house for a few days. They had a lot of fun and apparently Z had a little heart to heart with Em. My mom overheard them talking about my husband. She normally wouldn't listen in but this was far more serious than anyone could ever imagine and I am glad she did. Z was talking to Em about how my husband drinks and what it does to him. How it makes him act and how it driving us all apart. He said he loves my husband but he doesn't like how I feel and he wishes he wouldn't drink. My mom said there could be more to that conversation, but she didn't want stand there and be overly nosey.
That conversation with my mom plays over in my head like a broken record, it it like the words dance around in my head, like I have closed captioning on my brain. I know now I have to make a very important decision.

Could Your Car Be Cleaner?
I know I mine could, it is not a dumpster on wheels by any means, but it could use some love once in a while! I think the worst part taking the time to stop and vacuum, PLUS wash the car! I guess I could vacuum the car at home, but I would have to lug the vacuum outside and it just turns into more work than I care to do. So if I am lucky, well if the car is lucky, it gets vacuumed once a month. Yup, pretty bad. BUT, if I had a car vacuum in my garage it wouldn't be soo bad! I would defiantly vacuum the car at least once a week. It would defiantly make a chore I dislike doing a bit better!

Technology At Work
It absolutely amazes me how people can't seem to change with technology, especially older people.
There are two people who I work with who should probably retire, but choose not to. Seeing as they refuse to come to terms with the idea that technology can be your friend, that should be their number one reason for going.
The first one is a male chauvinistic pig. He a 70 some year old baby who refuses to use a computer. So is my job to help him do his job! Go figure, I have enough of my own crap to do.
The second one is a lady and she really plucked my nerve yesterday. I had a customer who was pissed off because we screwed up their parts and they had to send them back to us for rework. I needed to fax them some paperwork on the repair and this woman would not let me use the fax. She explained that I could only use it when she was done. I brought up the idea that it would be scanned and held in memory for cue and then it would just be sent next. She got all upset and tried to start an argument with me. "NO, you can't use it! You have to wait till my stuff goes through and I am all done!"
OMG you dumbass, get out my way, what part of that didn't you understand, IT IS SCANNED, SAVED IN THE MEMORY AND WILL BE SENT WHEN IT TURN COMES UP!!!! GRRR
Think Before You Speak
There is a girl I work with who is not quite 20 years old. She files paperwork for me and she also does a couple of other things in the office. I love the girl to death, she is a very good kid and I can almost look at her like a little sister, that is how well we get along. She works 2 part time jobs and goes to college, so I have to give it to her there. The problem is she just doesn't know about TMI (to much information)!
Yesterday she comes in and she looks miserable. Of course, I asked what the problem was. She starts talking to me about her time of the month and how bad she is PMSing and the cramps and the bloating..bla, bla, bla. So as I try to diffuse the conversation the complaining continues. Now most woman can feel her pain, we have all been there and we all have our own ways to deal.
Then she asks me "Annmarie, what do you for PMS relief ?"
Now I am no prude, but there are people around and there is a time and a place for a question like that!! What to say to a question like that, especially when there are people hanging around!?! So now I feel like I am on display and I want die, all I could think was, if I smack you in the head as hard as I can you will now be focused on your headache and that is something I can help you with!
I Received A Call From ...........School!
I felt my heart drop when I heard Z's teacher's voice on the other end. My first thought was "oh god, what did he do?" Pretty sad, isn't it?
His teacher proceeds to tell me that Z had done a much better job that expected so far. Sounds like even they were ready for the worst. She went on to say that for the most part he behaves well, gets a little silly once in a while but manages to pull himself together with cues and that he is VERY polite. Ummm...Come again? I couldn't be happier right now.
Funny thing is while we were eating dinner I told Z that his teacher called, he shook his head and said "What did I do?" I can't really blame him for that, he got in a lot of trouble last year and towards the end of the year I was called over every nit picking thing. I told him it was all positive, I was proud of him and I hoped he kept up the hard work.
So the first phone call of the year was very positive!

Holidays Are Coming Quick
Geez...this year has flown by fast. I can remember being a kid and it seemed like forever for the year to go by.
So one of my most favorite holidays is right around the corner....Halloween!! I love this holiday and really don't know why. I think it is because I always loved to dress up as something completely outside of the box and be something I wasn't. I love to go to look at houses that have been nicely decorated with scary stuff. Plus there is not eating involved!!
Then comes Thanksgiving...ugg..food... I love being with my family but all the food..OMG..I always feel miserable after this day. I certainly am thankful that we have food and family but not for the way I feel afterwards.
Then comes Christmas..more food and the favorite holiday of kids..I think we have lost focus on what Christmas is really about. This year I have no idea what is going to happen, as my son gets older he gets harder to shop for. It is now time for me to start thinking about more older kids things for him. Then I have my 30 year old child who keeps dropping the hint about flat panel televisions.
Lastly for the year, New Years. Time to welcome a new year and hope the new one is better than the last!!

Words and Their Meanings
Ever been told or given a word only to not know what the heck it means? So you take the time and look it up in the dictionary or in my case at dictionary.com but, there is no such word!
Well, I have one for you..gund. The dictionary.com claims to not know this word, so it suggests to check out encyclopedia.com.
What do I get there? You guessed it "Gotta Get A Gund" Remember those adorable little bears?? Looking for a softer bear? Then a Gund bear would be your choice. I guess being an under stuffed bear would be the key to softness.
Free Weight Loss Tools
Another challenge is on it’s was, the holidays are on the way!! Food will be everywhere! If you are looking to stay on track, I suggest checking out www.MyFitnessPal.com. I signed up the other day and love this site. They have a lot to offer from a diet journal, which is all to important for keeping track of ALL the food you put into your mouth, a calorie counter, so you can find the calories to all your favorite food and a calorie chart that allows you to view your daily calorie intake. You get all of this, PLUS more for free! That’s right, free.
There is so much you can do at this site, it is unbelievable, there are message boards for questions and support, you can customize your diet plan and track on the things you want, you have a weight chart to track your weight and you can also get recipes. Remember it is all free and if you decide to join, stop by the community boards and leave me a hello..my name…same as here.. diamondssaphire.
Monday Morning Mischievous
A woman woke in the middle of the night to find her husband missing from their bed. In the stillness of the house, she could hear a muffled sound downstairs.
She went downstairs and looked all around, still not finding her husband. Listening again, she could definitely hear moaning.
She went down to the basement to find her husband, crouched in the corner and facing the wall crying. She asked him, “What’s wrong with you?”
He replied: “Remember when your father caught us together, when you were 16?”“Remember,” he said, “I had a choice: I could either marry you, or be sent away to prison for the next 20 years.”
Baffled, she said, “Yes.”
The husband bawled, “I would have gotten out of prison today.”
My Mother in Law...
Something just dawned on me...My mother in law hasn't called the house..I haven't heard from her since we went to Maine and spent vacation with my husbands family and that was mid August. I know she has called my husband, trying to meddle in our family issues. I won't have it and she knows it. I'm a big girl and already have a mother, don't need another and especially one like her!!
Maybe I offended her because I couldn't deal with craziness..that family all together is a lot to deal with. I am sorry I can't change to be neurotic and crazy like all of you!!
Apparently her and my sister in law drilled my husband the last day we were there. Comments like "What is the matter with her" and "She was fine when she got here". I guess having the flu, sleeping in tent and other girlie things just are not an excuse for me..if it was either one of them then it would be ok to feel miserable. Seeing as I don't go with the grain and act like them then I am the one with problem. They think they way they act is perfectly normal. Go figure...
Well, I hope I haven't jinxed myself by posting this!!
Am I Dreaming?
So things have been pretty quiet at school. This time last year Z had his first suspension! I feel like it is dream and I haven't woke up yet. He is doing good..following class rules and getting what little home work he has done. I would love to see him go into a regular class before the new year. Being in this special class really restricts what he can do at school. The only kids he really sees are the 5 in his group. No chance to make friends and he can't do what the rest of the 7th graders can do. (Hmmm.... 7th grade already?? Doesn't feel like it now that he is in this class, that's for sure.) Hopefully he has the same goals and aspirations that I have for him. But I can say he has done a complete 360 since starting his new medication and I am lovin it!
Want To Try A New Product?
Have you gone into a store and noticed a new product and wanted to try it but was unsure if it would really work? I know I have, I wait to see if any of my friends or family are going to try it so that I can ask what they thought of it.
So many of you here, if you are reading this blog know I have a weight issue. What comes along with a weight issue? Hideous stretch marks and pits of cellulite all you’re your body! I personally have always wondered if cellulite cream really worked. Never tried it and I don’t know of anyone who has. Then again, why would I walk up do someone and ask then to divulge that info?? Now I can check it out with out asking a very personal and embarrassing question.
Gentleman, are you going bald and feeling a bit self conscious about the hair loss? Are you wondering about trying to re-grow that hair you have lost along time ago? Check out what other men just like you think about Provillus and Procerin. Get the heads up about that product before you try it.
You can also leave a review. Menopause has hit and you are trying the newest thing for hot flashes. Unfortunately, instead of cooling off you are burning up because you wasted your money on a product that claimed to help get rid of them and it is not working. Tell others about it, leave your review of the product. I am sure others would love to know what the scoop really is. I know I do..well not right now, I am still to young for menopause.
So when doubt, check it out. Maybe the newest product you want to try is listed at Trustsource.org. Just think, you don't have to ask your friends or family, there are just somethings that are better off kept to yourself.
Update: The Car
The car is fixed..They had to replace the ignition on it. Could have been worse I suppose!! The locksmith took forever to get here. Had and appointment for 11:00 am, called and said he was running behind schedule and would be at my job at 12:30. Well he really got here about 1:45 pm...A little less that impressed, it wasn't like I needed to go to the bank or anything..Oh well, at least I have my car back!!

Stupidest Thing I Have Every Heard
I don't remember how the discussion started, but my husband must be trying really hard to make himself feel better.
Last night he started talking about how much coffee I drink. Preaching to me about how the doctor says it's not good for me and I am supposed to cut back on the amount I have. I have cut back, I don't drink coffee at work any more! This is were the dumbness comes in, he adds in "It is just as addicting as drugs or alcohol, you drink coffee everyday but I don't drink alcohol everyday."
Ummmm, reality check pal, you just came off a week and a half of drinking everyday, you didn't drink last night before last, but I did see the beer you drank last night!! Let's get out of fantasy land and look at the real picture.
I didn't even want to get into it with him. all I said was "You know, atleast with my coffee addiction I don't have to seek out alcohol or drug rehabs to get over my dependency for it."
Yes, I love coffee and yes I drink it everyday!!
My Car...piece of crap
I am so irritated right now, have been since last night.
I was all ready to get out of this god for saken place last night. I cleaned up my area, shut down the computer and was on my way out the door. I get out to the car, I put the key in the ignition and nothing. Well, it turned over but then the freakin key got stuck! Are you kidding me?? The key wouldn't turn enough to start and when I tried to take the key out, wouldn't turn far enough that way either. UGGGG...So I try and try, most likely made things worse.
Finally I gave up and went inside to call my husband. Thankfully, my husband only works 15 minutes away but I still had to wait for him to unload his truck. About 5:45 pm he shows up and he laughing at me and asking at the same time "What did you do???"
Needless to say he couldn't get it to do anything either. So my car had to sit here, at work, all night.
This morning my husband tried again and still nothing. I came inside and called the garage and they said I needed to call a locksmith. They gave me a number and I called. Still have not heard back from him BUT the key is out!! Thanks to the Internet I found someone who had the same problem and the unhooked the car battery and the key came out. As far as I am concerned, I am willing to try just about anything.
So I tracked down the maintenance manager and asked if he would be willing to help me out. Sure enough the key cam out and I hopefully can go home with the car tonight. I have no idea what time my husband will be out tonight and I would really hate to get stuck here.
As I think about it all..I came to the conclusion that my husband is a real dumb ass. I should have dropped him off at work and been the one to pick him up.
Just give me one more start...pleazzzz

The New Boss
So a couple of weeks ago my department got a new boss. Our old boss is still there, he was just given a new position. He was not really boss material. He was more of a friend and never wanted to deal with any "real" problems. All in all a great guy!
There is nothing bad to say about the new boss, as of yet. Friday was the first time he and I actually interacted together. He was asking me what computer programs I knew how to use. I thought it was a little strange and at the end of the day he gave me a flow chart he wanted to add to the Quality Manual and "At my old job I had someone who did all this kind of stuff for me. I will need you to do this and this with the chart. I will need it for Wednesday."
Huh, can we say secretary? One thing I am not, is an administrative assistant. I was never trained as one, I never wanted to be one and the plain truth, I have no desire to become one. If the guy is looking for a secretary to do his dirty work, he had better let Human Resources know so they can hire him one. Another thing I don't do is fetch coffee, go make copies, don't answer emails for anybody else and I most certainly don't clean up after anybody. So if the track lighting in his office is dirty, well he'd best bust out his Swiffer and do it himself! Don't get me wrong, I don't mind helping out but there is a fine line.
So this week is a new week, I will continue to keep myself positive about this, but I will also keep a close eye on what is going on.
New Lights
My mom was telling me yesterday that she is in the middle of redecorating her house. I don’t know why, her house is very beautiful the way it is. However, we all get bored with the way a room can look and want to freshen it up. So I gave her the name of a website where she could get Seagull Lighting . I found some things I liked, I hope she will too.

I Love Sparkles
So I have been trying to convince my husband to let me get another ring!! LOL...not working out to well. I have 2 diamond rings and want to add another to them. My wedding band is diamonds, small compared to my engagement ring. Even at that, my engagement ring is very modest. Largest diamond just over 1/2 carat but it has smaller ones on each side of it. Anywho, I wanted to add another band just like my wedding band to the other side of the ring. My husband thinks I am nuts, Maybe I am ..who knows. But I think I should be able to get another one!!
His reasoning....He thinks it is a waste of money..I don't really agree with that. I didn't tell him he couldn't get faux wood blinds for the basement. I have to agree that it looks better down there but geez..he got what he wanted!! I guess I had better start working overtime and save up my pennies!!

A Not So Quick Explanation!!
Some of you may wonder why I may post about my son and school. May seem kinda pointless but Z had the roughest year last year and I vented a whole lot on this blog. Some of you may know this and others will not, unless you have gone to the archives. My readers who have been with me the longest only know of last year and not when it started.
If I make a big deal of the smallest things it is because I am very proud of the small accomplishments Z makes. No matter how small they are to others, in this family they are HUGE and here is why....
My son was diagnosed with ADHD in the 2nd grade. He was put on Ritalin and in the school eyes he was better. He had some reading problems and received extra help but more or less fell through the cracks.
We made it though 3rd grade with more reading help and none the less he was still behind.
4th grade came and with the reading problems came some behavior issues. We worked really hard with the school and tried to help Z. He was given more Ritalin to get through the school day. His father walked out of his life and on the outside he looked like any other kid, but on the inside he was being ripped apart. To this day his father still has not been around
Any of you who have been with me since I started this blog know of what he went through last year with mental health issues. When I look back it all really started in 4th grade. The very first problem that started was "hair pulling" or "Trichotillomania". Basically, when he was feeling anxious he would pull out his hair from the back of his head.
We really don't know how long this was going on for. I noticed it on accident. He was standing in front of me and I looked at the back of his head near his neck and thought how strange his hair looked. So I took my hand and ran it through his hair, opposite of the way it grows, only to find 2 HUGE bald spots. To be honest with you all, my heart dropped and I was scared to death. He had a doctors appointment coming up about a week later and I waited till then before I made any moves.
When we went to his appointment I showed the doctor and he immediately referred him for counseling. I took him to the counselor and she explained to me that he had Trichotillomania. I asked what I could do and she said keep his hair short and watch for hair pulling from eye brows or eye lashes and continue counseling.
So that is what we did. Got out the clippers and buzzed it all off..practically bald. He had that hair cut for as long as I can remember. I constantly watched for pulling out the eyebrows. He continued counseling and it seemed to slow down but has never really stopped. In really stressful situations he still tries to pull his hair but with cues he can stop himself.
In the 5th grade things got worse. Behavior problems escalated, he started making noises and keeping things. He kept things like clothing tags, rocks, paper cups and pictures of things that seemed to be meaningless, paper clips, broken toys and the list goes on. He down right REFUSED to throw things away. He would get very upset at even the suggestion of getting rid of anything. I used to go in his room, find things I hoped he wouldn't notice and throw them away. Even to this day, it is a struggle to get his to get rid of stuff. When asked why he wants to keep stuff so bad, all he could say is "I don't know". It was determined that he was hoarding and had a form of OCD and he also was diagnose with vocal tics. They didn't call it Tourettes at the time because Ritalin could have been the cause. The only way to know for sure was to take him off the medication and see what happened. So that is what I did.
6th grade came and all hell broke loose!! The vocal tics continued and they changed to different ones. He was not on any medication for ADHD, behavior problems went through the roof. He was very impulsive, lied, stole, fought with kids, was angry all the time. He HATED school. He was failing every class and the school labeled him as lazy. He was still behind on reading and now needed extra help with math. His reading level was at a high 3rd grade. Homework would take HOURS and yet the school would say he was up to grade level. He was given a 504 plan to help him. His grades came up and he worked really hard. But was still a bomb waiting to explode.
At the end of the school year he had an undetermined amount of detentions and had been suspended 13 times. The school decided to do a bunch of testing on him. The tests were for learning, social, emotional, impulsivity and ADHD. In one of the computer tests it asked if he ever heard voices. He answered "Yes". He was immediately taken to a child psychologist and he was diagnosed with Auditory Hallucinations and ADHD with severe impulsivity, ODD,(Oppositional Defiance Disorder) Tourettes and mild OCD. (That's a mouth full) So he was put on Risperdal and Strattera.
I also contacted an advocate for children with learning disabilities That is when things changed. When the school found out an advocate would be coming with me to the last PPT of the school year, they were singing a different song. They bumped up the PPT date and decided that he truly had LD and some major mental heath disabilities and he was going to be put into a Special ED program starting in 7th grade.
Over the summer Z went to an intensive out patient counseling program at a mental health facility. We had a lot of great results and a lot of hardship at the same time. I can say he is a much happier boy. Good news is........he was discharged yesterday!!!
So here were are today. A new school year, a new school program, which I won't get into on this already looonnggg post. But I will explain what it is about another day. Thanks for reading and I am really sorry for the super long post.
Start Of Football Season
Apparently football season started last night. I really am not a fan of football but my husband always tries to force me to like it. Baseball is a sport I can watch, just not football.
My husband has this crazy thought that everyone in this house should love football as much as he does. I am not quite sure who gave him that idea, but that is the impression he gives off. I have to remind his 15 year old brain that not everybody is going to like the same things and that it is ridiculous to think that. But, there is no convincing him of that. He even thinks that Z should be a die-hard fan of football. Come on, the kid is 12 years old, he is just beginning to find out what he likes. I would much rather have him watching the Animal Planet, better yet the Discovery Channel and actually learning something(both channels have become very popular with him lately).
Who knows where he gets his thinking from!! Sometimes I am dumbfounded when it comes to his opinions on things. Well, if you see an increase in post's do not be surprised, I have a looong season ahead of me!
With all that said, I am off to order dead sea salt! My sister in law wanted to try it, she has Psoriasis and heard that they worked for that.
200 Posts
I never realized it till this morning but, I have 200 posts! Well actually I have more than that. This post will make #221.
Back when I started blogging I never thought I would have come this far. I have made some new friends and have had a great time. I have also used this as sort of a diary and it has been a great stress relief for me as well. Some people think I am nuts for putting my personal stuff up here and at times I myself have wondered if I should of posted certain things.. But I have gotten great encouragement, some advice and most importantly, I have never been judged or received a nasty comment. I personally have my readers to thank for that and all of which are great people.
So here's to another 200 posts!!

Need More Contact Lenses?
If you wear contact lenses like me then you know, depending on the prescription and type, how expensive they can be. I know mine alone cost me almost $200.00 for a 6 months supply. Every year the cost seems to go up. Between the eye exam fee, the fitting fee and then the actual contact lenses, it all adds up.
AC Lens is having a September Sale. They are offering free shipping off all orders over $89.00, which is a saving of $6.95 alone. AC Lens offers a huge selection of contact lenses, so no matter what type you wear, whether they are Acuvue, Freshlook, Focus or Biomedics, you can find them here. When you order a year supply of contact lenses you can save 10% or more off. Every order comes with a 30-day money back guarantee, which is a comforting thought for me.
So you may be wondering what your savings could be? Let’s look at a few a year supply of Proclear Compatibles you can save $112 a year or if you use Focus Day and Night, well that would be a savings of $84 a year. Not to bad, what do you think?
If you have just had your annual eye exam and are ready to order a year supply of contact lenses why not check out AC lens prior to ordering them from your optician. You have nothing to lose and something to save. A few extra dollars but remember the sale ends September 30th, so don’t wait to long!

Finally!! Peace and Quiet
It is finally quiet!! At about 8:30 pm my crabby ass husband went to bed and at 9:30 pm Z laid his head on his pillow for the night. Finally some quiet time!!
I so look forward to nights when eveyone is in bed early. I usually have to get up early to get any quiet time. I often enjoy just sitting here with out having to listen to Mom, Mom (somedays I just want to change my name) or some one nagging, whining, bitching or complaining. There are times none of those things have to be going on, I just need a little time to myself and that is when getting up early comes in!
Mr. B.O. Is Coming Over
So the landlord called and left a message to that he is replacing the bathroom sinks in our apartment and the people upstairs. I really hate having people I don’t know in my house, especially when I am not there. Something about it really bothers me. I suppose someone will have to take the time off from work when this is done. All I can imagine is someone rummaging through my stuff, snooping around. Geez, maybe he’ll have it done on a Saturday, that way I don’t lose anytime from work.
If he won’t have it done on a Saturday, then I hope I can convince my husband to be there. Our landlord is a little old Italian guy, who is very nice, but he stinks like body order. It’s terrible!! When he comes over to visit, which is not very often, thank god, I have to go outside to talk to him. He just stinks up my entire house and it seems like it never goes away. Boy, I sure am dreading this!!
First Day Of School
So I got a call from Z's school counselor yesterday. She wanted to let m know that Z had a great first day!! Hurray!! Ummm ...one thing though, I would certainly hope so, it WAS the first day!! We would have big problems if he acted out on the first day of school. They acted like he performed a miracle, almost like he was not capable of having a great day. Come on now, I know he had a bad year last year but to act surprised about having a good day, Give the kid a little more credit, please.
Anywho, I am still proud of him. He received points off one time for making an inappropriate comment to another peer. He told him "Shut your pie hole"
Rent A Beautiful Beach Front Home
Have you ever been to North Carolina? I have, it was like 14 years ago. I went to Fayetteville for a week. A friend of mine, well he was my boyfriend at the time, was in the Army. I did not do much sight seeing that week. We went to dinner a few times and partied with his friends. Those were the days!!
As an adult, I would defiantly check things out. I was looking at a website that has vacation homes on the Outer Banks. All I can say is, beautiful and very expensive! One of the houses, cheapest weekly rate $2200.00, the most expensive weekly rate for the same house..$6045.00!!!! It is nice to dream, that’s all it will be though, is a dream.
This is the house!!

I think the bloggers who create these awards are special. Because of their kindness we have a symbol of appreciation for our friends, and beautiful designs with uplifting sayings to display on our blogs.
The Smile Award was created by Bridget at "...And miles we go before we sleep..."
Here's to those who make me smile every time I stop by their blog's. Thanks to you all...

Monday Morning Mischief
A man goes to the Super Bowl but his tickets are for the upper tier. He spots an open seat on the 50-yard line and grabs it.
The guy sitting next to him says, “Actually, this seat belongs to me. I was supposed to come with my wife, but she passed away. This is the first Super Bowl we haven’t been to together since we got married in 1967.”
“I’m sorry to hear that,” says the first man. “Couldn’t you find a friend or relative to come with you?”
“Nope,” replies the second guy. “Everyone’s at the funeral.”
One Of My Favorite Pictures
I was looking at the pictures from the family get together we went to last weekend. I had a great bunch of pictures but this one was my favorite.
My son and niece:
They haven't seen each other in 9 years and to get such a wonderful picture made my day. I haven't seen such a nice smile on "Z" like this in a very long time. Usually I get the fake 1/2 assed smile, that is if I get one at all.
My mom loved this pic as well. Thanks to digital camera's you can see what you have with out waiting to develop the film.
Yesterday I did the editing and decided I was going to have it blown up and printed to a 5x7 size then put them in frames. One is for me, my brother and one for my mom's office at work. So instead of printing them myself, I sent them to CVS to have them printed professionally. Along with the pictures I also ordered personalized cups for my grandmother and great grandmother. Both of them like those types of gifts and I thought it would be a nice surprise for them to get in the mail.
Last One
Last picnic of the year!!! Hurray!!
Today we are off to my father in laws house for a Labor Day picnic. This is the official end to the summer. I am sad to see summer go, now it is now it is time to bring in fall and then the all so dreaded winter. I am not a big fan of the snow, ice and most of the cold. Brr..
So with my random babble over, I want to wish my faithful readers a Happy Labor Day and if you don't recognize this holiday well ...Happy Sunday...Nick, I think it is Monday for you..Happy Monday..
