Dishes and Maniacs

So there have been a couple of downfalls since moving. Fairly stupid things but enough to bother me! First of all, there is a screaming maniac living next door and now I have only one kitchen sink instead of two kitchen sinks never had two separate ones, just the big sink with twp basins. For what ever reason this bothers me more than the screaming maniac that lives next door! We have been here almost 3 months and yet dishes are a pain in the butt every time! Ugh, I guess I need to use more paper plates! Speaking of dishes, I suppose I should go heat up my lunch since I did drive home today..I certainly wish I could stay here.

Ugh...Collection Agencies

My poor sister in law had one of those commercial collection agencies call her house the other day. By the time she got off the phone with them she was in tears. Apparently they had harassed her to the point that she just couldn't take it any longer. I told her that the harassment was against the law and she could file a complaint against them. I am glad I haven't had to deal with a collection agency. I don't take well to being threatened and demoralized like that. I am sure they are all not bad like this one who called her but one bad one can give the whole industry a bad name. Moral of the story, Pay your bills!

2-0..Way To Go!

So our our boys, the Plainville Colts (A Squad) won again last night. All though they won by the skin of there teeth, they should be proud of themselves. The final score was 7 Plainville - 0 Water Oak. The game was a close one right to the very end, I mean when you are sitting on the edge of your seat through the entire game up till the last 7 seconds, you know it was good. I had meant to bring my camera, I wanted to take pictures to post but I forgot.

Our last 2 games have been away so my mind is busy with making sure I have food and Gatorade for Zac. Yesterday we left at 3 pm and didn't get home till 8:20 pm. The next 3 games are at home and the field is just about within walking distance! I'll be sure to bring the camera this Sunday (I hope I remember)... GO COLTS

How Old Are You?

Sometimes I wonder how old my husband is mentally, especially when he has a few drinks! It is almost like the 12 year old comes out! Actually he reminds me a lot of his dad. It amazes me how much his personality is like BOTH of his parents.

It was about 10:30 pm last night and my son was on the computer and on the phone at the same time. He also had the music playing on the computer, talk about multi-tasking! So my husbands 12 year old personality comes out for a conversation and he says "You know, I don't think he should be allowed to chill on the computer, talk on the phone and play the music down there like he owns the place if I can't watch the game and smoke a cigarette down there with out the neighbors having an issue." We learned that the walls are not very thick at our new place a couple of weeks ago. Zach had a late game 2 Sundays ago and I recorded the Cowboys game for my husband. He watched it downstairs and I guess he proceeded to smoke. The next day the neighbor commented about it. Oops! So I said" Well I don't think he is acting like he owns the place, I think he is acting like a kid." So my husband continues to whine and demand that I tell him to come upstairs "Well we aren't going to allow this to happen are we? Don't you think that he should come up now. It is getting really late."

I personally don't have an issue with it, I couldn't hear anything and quite honestly 10:30 isn't that late. But my husband and his drunk alter ego have a need to nit pick together. Sometimes, like last night, I ignore it. There are time thought that I can tell that he is not going to let it go and I will ask Zach to not do what ever my husband is complaining about. I guess that you have to compromise sometimes just to keep the drama away. Trust me, it doesn't take much for my husband to go into dramatic mode!

Well my husband and is alter ego want me to check out some online car insurance companies and get a few quotes to see if we can save some more money. I wish he would learn to do these things too.

Will I Get It?

So I have made the leap, the leap of looking for a new job!. I worked a 1/2 a day yesterday and went on a job interview. It was scary at first, seeing as it has been years since I been on my last interview but for the most part, with the exception of a couple of blunders, it went very well. I was told that I would be called for a second interview, more of a computer skills test but I was so far the most qualified person for the job. The only issue is, it pays less money! But money isn't everything, right? How much less I am not sure, I will have to wait and see.

As for my blunder, well I don't think it hurt me to much. When the gentleman realized that I may not know what they did he was a little embarrassed and he ask if the human resources lady had told me. I replied" No she didn't BUT I do know what your company makes, I checked out your website." Knowing I had earned some brownie points there by the way he smiled, I said " This company makes orthodontic (here is were I lose my thought), orthodontic, umm (now I am stuck without a word, why I don't know and I blurt out) orthodontic STUFF." Needless to say, I wanted to die. I think he knew by the look on my face that it just poured out of my mouth. He smiled with a little chuckle and said" Well the orthodontic STUFF you are referring to is wire, we are in the process of trying to get approved for brackets as well."

So all in all it went good, I hope the money isn't to much less than what I make now. But then again, medical isn't a field I have ever worked in and the job is quality/procurement and I have never worked in procurement either. He told me straight out the only way to get more money is to take on more responsibilities other than that, you get your yearly review and increase. Right now I am not going to worry about it because the benefit package will have a lot to do with my decision as well.

Reading Style,

Do you read books? I love to read BUT it has to be the right type of book. Unfortunately I can't just grab any old book and read it. I am not into romance, science fiction or horror. I can watch a horror movie but not a book.

Me, I like true crime, murder and so on. My husband says that I am a little off because I read books about people like Jeffrey Dahmer or Susan Smith. I have read the book A Child Called It and The Lost Boy. The books are a biography of a man who had suffered some of the most horrifying child abuse imaginable. I don't think I am off because I choose the books I do, it is all the matter of personal preference and quite honestly I am not going to read what people or my husband think I should read!

So what is your favorite genre and your favorite book? Please do share!

He Does It Again

Yesterday my day at work was going fairly well, that is till about 4:15. At 4:15 my boss comes in to the new corner of an office space and asks me about an RMA (returned material authorization). At which point I tell him no such RMA exists. He tells me it came in a month ago and he needed an update. So again I tell him that I have no idea what he is talking about and there is no such RMA. He asks me to look anyways and let him know what the outcome of the RMA was. Sigh....

I said "OK."

What I wanted to say " Listen here you arrogant mother fucker, there is no such customer that returned a part by that name. Not one week ago, not a month ago, hell not even a year ago. I deal with RMA's everyday, 5 days a week don't you think I would know if a RMA came in from that fuckin customer. What gives you the right to treat me like I am dumb and don't know what the fuck I am talking about. Then you make me waste my time searching for a mystery. Why don't you get off your power trip and start treating me with some decentsy? Oh thats right, your boss is a chic, maybe you struggle with that and you take it out on me seeing I am the only female in the department. Makes perfect sense, probably doesn't make you feel good talking down to the men in the department and being bossed around by a women all day. Asshole.."

A New Blog In My List

So, I approve blogs for a blog traffic site..and very rarely do I find a blog that really makes me want to link to it.

So this morning I was approving a blogs with my lousy cup of coffee, well the coffee isn't lousy it is the creamer (i'll save that for another time) So I was approving a blog that posted about another blog. A title can make or break a blog and with a name like Cake Wrecks it is a must take a peek for me. I am glad I did cause some of these cakes posted are the funniest I have seen. So go check out Cake Wrecks and let me know what you think.

Even In The Rain

Last night Zachary had football practice in the pouring rain! He was very excited about that. It seemed a little odd that kid would want to practice in the rain but maybe I the one who is not quite right. At 7:30 I pick him up, he looked like a drown rat and he was less than thrilled! His kept complaining his legs were numb and that not surprising considering it was in the low 60's. Needless to say, after practice he didn't have the same enthusiasm!

Plainville is much different then West Hartford, they actually have something for the kids to do on a Friday night. From 7:00 to 9:30 they have Teen night at the YMCA. I think vit is a wonderful idea, it give the kids something to do. So Zachary went last night and he said it fun, the music was a little different but it was fun. They sent him home with baggie full of stuff. Alot of handouts about being a teen, drinking, drugs and just being yourself. I thought that was an awesome idea, kids these days need a lot of support when it comes to being themselves and sometimes parental support isn't enough. The also gave them a granola bar and there was one of those promotional pens that had the group name on it. In West Hartford you would never have anything like this, the have a teen center but it is for kids only in high school and it is right after school. As I have stated before, I am sooo glad we moved to Plainville.

Go Colts...not the NFL

Yesterday we spend a good portion of our day on the football field. We got there at 3in the afternoon and left at 7:20 at night...whoo, what a long day.

Since we have moved Zach has decided to get back into football...boy was I happy. He lost the loser friends and gained a better sense of who he was and wants to be. So I am please to say that his team won the first regular game of the season! Plainville Colts 33 - New Fairfield Falcons 0 .

Something else he wants to try is modeling..wow..one extreme to the next with him! He is concerned about the little pimples on his face and I am off to find that perfect acne treatment! So how things change over a few months, isn't it great!

I Wanna Work For ......Me!

So I have had an increasing desire to try to start my own business. This past year has been a trying one for me at my job and quite honestly I am tired of making the rich richer. In the past year I have gotten a new boss, had my workspace down sized twice, lost 1% of my merit award for not complaining at the weekly staff meeting (I'll tell ya about that another day) and quite frankly, I am tired.

So I have recently, today actually, started a new venture. I am going to take a stab at being an independent consultant for Discovery Toys. Discovery Toys makes educational toys for children of all ages and needs. So needless to say I am just a little bit, ok alot, excited. I am not looking to get rich or anything of that sort and I know this will take along time to get started. I guess I just want to try and see if I can be successful at a small business.

I just got my website today and will get my start up kit sometime this week. If you want to check out my site there is a link in the upper left of my blog. There will be alot of hard work ahead so I am sure I will be here posting about it, good and bad!

TGIF

How lucky to have this week be a 4 day week! I wish I could work 4 days a week every week! My boss has been on vacation so it has made this week all that much better. Maybe he will find a mover NYC ,oops a mover to take him to NYC or beyond!

It is pretty strange, I have never dislike a boss as much as I dislike this guy. Maybe it is his arrogant attitude?! He defiantly gives me a hard time. I'll have to fill you all in, that's for sure. I have decided to look for a new job, which I have been doing at my own leisure. I guess I have decided enough is enough. I would really like to try something new or at least outside of manufacturing. I don't know, I did send my resume for a legal secretary position, they were looking for entry level or mid career. We'll see what happens, but for now, I am just going to take my time.

Settling In

So we are finally feeling settled in. My son started a new school yesterday, for the most part all went well. But Zach being himself did find a little drama..in the way of the middle finger! Hopefully he will understand that he just needs to behave. I certainly don't need the moving trucks to show up again! We moved because he wanted a fresh start and we wanted out of the neighborhood we lived in. I hope he uses this to his advantage. I just want him to be happy and have a fulfilled life and to be the best young man that he can be...
