December 2nd:
Two boys were seen at a girls house, the girls mother was not home. They stood outside and talked for awhile and after a little while the girl went inside house and then two boys went in too. They were in there for a little while and then she asked them to leave because her mother was on her way home. The boys left and continued on to where they were going.
December 3rd:
An officer shows up at one of the families house early in the morning and tells them they need to speak to their son about an incident that happened on 12/2. The officer wouldn't tell the parents what was going on and asked if the could come down Friday with the boy for an interview. The mother, understandably upset, wanted to get it over with and agreed to come down that night. She was told that her son could be arrested and they were sure that he would know what he was talking about. They also told her that the other boy was already question and was told to not talk to the other boy about it, 1st boy was questioned till 10:30 pm at the police department on 12/2. My son comes home from school and tells me that two13 year old boys were accused of attempting to rape a girl 13 year old girl in our town of Plainville CT. One of the boys, the 1st one interviewed did not go to school. The girl told everybody at school that one of the boys tried to rape her and even proceeded to attack same boy in the hallway. According to him, he was in the hall when it happened and a teacher was standing right there and did NOTHING about it. The girl and the boy were later seen with escorts for the rest of the day. That evening the second boy and his mother go to the police department for his interview, the girl accusing these two boys was also there. She was now claiming that this boy at the police station threatened her at school. The boy gives his statement and he and his mother went home, they were there for 2 hours.
Boy and his mother leave the station feeling bummed out, wondering what the future holds. Will he be arrested, will the both of them be arrested. Mom stops for a pack of cigarettes and goes home. The boy goes upstairs, the mom pours a drink, grabs a cigarette and opens the door to go outside and there is a cop in front of her house. The mother laughs, she is tired and now fears that her son will be arrested. They hadn't been out of the station for 20 minutes. The officer apologizes to the mother and asks to speak with her son. Boy comes downstairs from his room and the officer proceeds to tell them the girl admitted that she made up 90% of what happened and the boys did not try to rape her. The officer apologized to the boy for what he has been through and gave him some wise words of advice and leaves.
If you read this whole post I wonder how you feel right now. Please share your thoughts as attempted rape is a serious accusation but lying about an attempted rape in just as bad. What if this was your daughter or what if this was your son. Please share...

Wow, I'm not sure what I would do if I were that girls parents. What happened between her and her parents that made her make up that crazy lie in the first place? That family needs counseling. If it were my son, I would like to think that I wouldn't pass judgement on him until I knew all the information first. I feel bad for those boys. This shouldn't have happened.
This is definitely one of the worst fears of any parent out there.
I think the parents of the boys should sue her for slander to hammer in the fact that this is not acceptable. Even if she admits to lying about it, this is no small lie. Life as these boys know it has changed forever and she needs to be accountable for that. Don't you think?
Sarcasm: I am not sure what went wrong either with that family either and you are right, it should never of happened.
Sharon: I agree with you completely. Life has changed and hopefully they learn from this as well.
Lying is a no-no in the first place and I would have sued the daylights out of her for such an act! Imagine what the poor boys had to go through?
I could tell you stories (at the heart of which lies my contempt for the CPS system)...
