Sometime last week I was over at Mel’s blog and he had story posted about kids. They were asked some questions and gave their honest thoughts. It’s called - Are You Smarter than A first Grader? It is really cute.
What kids think is always priceless and it made me think of Z when he was about 5 years old.
About 7 1/2 years ago I had a job interview to go on and I did not have a sitter for Z. It was after work and at the time I was a single mom. So the lady who owned the company said that I could bring him and he could sit with the receptionist. I was a little weary at first but the owner was insistent that everything would be okay. This lady was very nice and had worked for her for years. So reluctantly I agreed, I got there 15 minutes early and met the woman and sure enough she was very nice. Z like her right away, so I went for the interview and came down about 30 minutes later to leave. The lady gave me a funny look and said good bye and I never really even thought about it.
So needless to say I did get the job. About 6 months after I started Teresa (the receptionist) called me over to her desk. She said me she wanted to ask me a question.
“Ok” I said.
“Remember when you came for your interview and Z stayed down here with me?” She said.
“Yes” I replied.
“Your son asked me the strangest question and I was just curious as to how he came up with the conclusion.” She said.
I asked “Well, what was his question?” At this point I am veerryy curious.
She says “He asked me how many kids I had any kids and if so how many. I told him I did and that I had three.” Continuing on she says ”He then asked me if they all had different father’s !!!”
So by now she is trying not to laugh and she says “I never hear you talk about any other kids, is there something I should know?”
I replied “No, he is my only one.” Now I am trying to figure out where this had come from and why would he ever ask such a strange question…then it hit me.
“You know why he asked that” I said “Because his dad has three kids and each of the kids has a different mother!”
So now she is cracking up laughing and she said “I have been thinking about what that little man said since the day he said it. I just never knew if there was a right time to ask anything like this.”
Out of the mouth of babes!!

I agree with "Lord Manila Stone": Kids are really smart these days :) Loved the post.
Oh boy that was funny all right!! :):) You never know what a child is thinking about do you? :)
I am convinced that each generation of children is smarter than the one before them.
