Lately things have been crazy at work. Everyone is worried about their job and it feels like las vegas, almost like the odds are against you and at any moment you could lose everything you have. No one is really sure if seniority means a thing. I guess when they decide it is your time, then it is your time. I hope we make it through the end of this year. Nobody wants to be with out a job right now, Thanksgiving, Christmas they are just weeks away and I can't fathom what it would be like to not have a job. As of right now I am trying like hell to squirrel some money away. It is so hard to save money, bills are ridiculous and the truck payment is what kills us out side of rent. What kills me even more are food prices. Yesterday I went to the grocery store, Stop and Shop and I was looking at the yogurt. They had their brand of yogurt in sale, 8 for $4.00, ok, sounds like a good deal right? WRONG...a good deal is when they keep the amount of ounces the same and lower the price not when they remove 2 ounces and keep the price the same. Stop and Shops yogurt went from 8 ounces to 6 ounces and the price never changed a bit!
Ugh..it so frustrating, I guess I should be happy that gas has dropped like a rock, consudering I drive a Ford Expedtion. It is nice to know I can save a ton of money at the pump. But for how long??

My Son And His Allowance, Well The Lack Of It
I try to give my 12 year old son an allowance but he never seems to want to do his chores. LOL..what kid wants chores? I always find myself reminding him that he always wants to buy things and without money, it is pretty hard thing to do, but at the same time I want him to save his money for something special that he wants.
There are a couple of options out there. I could open him a savings account. Never to early to learn about banking. There is also this prepaid Visa card called PAYjr Visa Buxx card which is available for children 13 year old and up. This card allows your load your child's allowance onto a prepaid Visa. Chores are kept track of by using the Chore and Allowance Management System. This system is available to children 12 and under as well. Will this be the answer to my dilemma? I don't really know, but I think I am willing to give it a shot.
