Much To My Surprise

Last night after work I had a few errands to run, one of them was to get gas. The one thing most people used to dread was getting gas, well not anymore. I actually paid $1.89 a gallon for gas. It was a good thing though, the pump moved so slow that it took almost 10 minutes to put in $20.00! I had every intention of filling the Gas Hog up but as soon as I saw how slow the pump was moving I scratched that idea. After I managed to squeeze $20.00 worth of gas out of the pump I got in the truck and thought, geez how much gas will I really get out of this? Well, I started it up and it came in a hair under a 1/2 a tank! I was shocked, I remember not to long a ago it gave me just under a quarter of a tank. Feels nice to not dump $98.00 in the gas tank.

My parents live in New Hamphire and the gas up there is more than what we pay down here! I remember when gas up there was 99 cents a gallon and we were about 25 cents more than them, not anymore. So my curiousity got the best of me and I took a peak at what California was paying, $1.75 in some places...hmm sounds nice wonder what California car insurance cost out there?? Not that it has anything to do with gas but man I thought California would still have pretty high gas.

A Roll Of The Dice

Lately things have been crazy at work. Everyone is worried about their job and it feels like las vegas, almost like the odds are against you and at any moment you could lose everything you have. No one is really sure if seniority means a thing. I guess when they decide it is your time, then it is your time. I hope we make it through the end of this year. Nobody wants to be with out a job right now, Thanksgiving, Christmas they are just weeks away and I can't fathom what it would be like to not have a job. As of right now I am trying like hell to squirrel some money away. It is so hard to save money, bills are ridiculous and the truck payment is what kills us out side of rent. What kills me even more are food prices. Yesterday I went to the grocery store, Stop and Shop and I was looking at the yogurt. They had their brand of yogurt in sale, 8 for $4.00, ok, sounds like a good deal right? WRONG...a good deal is when they keep the amount of ounces the same and lower the price not when they remove 2 ounces and keep the price the same. Stop and Shops yogurt went from 8 ounces to 6 ounces and the price never changed a bit!

Ugh..it so frustrating, I guess I should be happy that gas has dropped like a rock, consudering I drive a Ford Expedtion. It is nice to know I can save a ton of money at the pump. But for how long??

Summer Vacation

Not so sure we will be having a traveling summer vacation. I was going to check out the
Outer Banks rentals in hopes to go somewhere none of us have been. So anywho, Friday night gas was $3.56, yesterday afternoon, it was $3.61. What the hell is going on?? The one thing that most people need is gas and they have found a way to rape everyone in the world. I am so afraid that one morning I am going to wake up and the gas in my car is going to me gone. My grandmother said the new thing is to drill holes into gas tanks and collect the gas that way. Someone needs to do something, I don't know who or even what but there will be utter pandemonium when gas hits four dollars a gallon. It looks like that will be a reality sooner than later!
