I am back to work today...my company shut down and laid everyone off from 12/24 to 1/5. Am I happy to go back? I sure am! staying home was very difficult for me and even though I am not liking my job, I would rather be there then home all the time.
My husband and I went through a little rough patch last week and it almost caused me to pack up my and my son's luggage! He can be very immature some...well alot of the times. He was mad at me because I didn't have to go to work and he did. Hey dumb ass, I didn't ask to be laid off now did I?? So what does he do last week..works Monday, Tuesday and 1/2 of Wednesday. Has Thursday off and even though he could have gone to work Friday, he chose not to. Now the problem here is that he pays child support for his daughter. We have bills that need to be paid and child support comes right off the top, where does that leave the bills??? That just shows me how selfish he can be...so it will now be a month of struggling to rebound. Oh well, I guess it is not always fun and games..
You know even if the child support wasn't automatically taken, it would still be the morally right thing to pay first. Ya know?
ReplyDeleteBut seriously, is missing a day and a half around the holidays really that important? Does it really mean that you can't pay any of your bills that month? Or are you exaggerating a bit? (Not attacking you, just curious cause I know many people who do exaggerate it.) Plus you probably gained extra time with him. Doesn't that count for something?
Well he actually missed 2 1/2 days..
ReplyDeleteI got laid off and we all know unemployment doesn't give you what you would normally bring home. It wouldn't be so bad if unemployment didn't say it woulds be 3 weeks or better before we saw our checks! So at this moment in time, yes I am feeling a little strapped..
As for spending a little extra time with him...well...I'll keep that comment to myself.
Oh and about the child support thing...I send the check out myself every week. I have a son and rarely see support for him...I would never deny a child support!
ReplyDeleteYou know by me being unemployed...I understand how you can be frustrated and upset. Bills add up. You can't tell your bill collectors that you missed a day at work therefore you have to miss a payment. Keep your head up.
ReplyDeleteI was just making a statement that child support is the morally right thing to do to pay first. I wasn't implying that you don't agree or anything.
ReplyDeleteBut you write the check for him? Now that seems wrong. My husband writes the check for our oldest (my stepson). Always has and always will. I'll help raise the kid, and I'll help financially, but in the end it is his burden to bare.
No comment on the spending time with him thing? I can only infer that things aren't going well? If so, that sucks.
Wow, with my wife, ModernPrincess was telling me about this I thought it was from one of her message boards. Didn't realize it was blog. We both have been surfing blog explosion a lot lately.
ReplyDeleteAnyway. I write my child support check every month, even keep a special bank account with reserves just in case. There used to be a lot more in that account but I turned it into savings bonds. I'm also typically a month ahead.
I've been working steady for 3 years now, but before then, I was in and out of work a lot, and that wasn't fun. I'm the only income for our family of four. Talk about stress!

Ok?? Not sure what the point of this is supposed to be about, thanks for letting me know though.
ReplyDeleteAll this over a child support check that I right out..man, atleast women are getting it. My son can go months with out a check.
I feel like I am supposed to be defending something here. Why doesn't my husband write out the check..hmm because I write out all the bills/checks. Why do I do that?Because he has a habit of not entering the info on the check registry.
So to make MY life easier I do it all. I don't think it matters who writes the check as long as it gets done. If it does make people feel better, he does write the address on the envelope!
