$4000.00, That's It?!?!

So I reluctantly got up, made coffee and started surfing the net. I found this story and was shocked.

This guy goes into a German hospital for brain surgery, the doctor's had to remove the top of his skull (obviously). So they toss his skull in the fridge to preserve it so they can reattach it after the operation. Well apparently the refrigerator was faulty and spoiled his skull! So the doc's had to give him a prosthetic skull made of plastic to protect his brain.

This man goes to court and is awarded 3,000 euros or 4,000 USD, not because the doctor's had to give him a fake head, but because the operation caused him discomfort! Ummm, what's wrong with this picture? Go in for an operation, have your skull cut off and have it replace with plastic and all you get is a settlement for discomfort caused by an operation? He is a much better person than I am because if I had to have a plastic head for the rest of my life, I would certainly be a little pissed off!!
