So my son and I went to the grocery store for a few things the other night and some how we ended up in the so dangerous Bakery section. Thank goodness I have some will power!! My son, well he has his fathers appetite and the metabolism to go along with it. Z's weakness is glazed donuts!!..Loves them.. As he was looking around I decided that I had to leave the Bakery before all will power was lost. I was in the Frozen Food section and I hear my son call me. Low and behold he found the day old bakery items and was completely aww struck....Glazed Donuts heaven...
So of course I am inspecting the packaging and the over all look of the food. (I have a great paranoia about opened packages and food that just doesn't "look right") He puts a package of donuts in the cart and I notice that they have bagels. Well I grab the package and the next thing that comes screaming out of his mouth (I mean screaming) is "YOU CAN'T HAVE THOSE!! YOUR GONNA GET HIGH!!" As he throws the package of Poppy Seed Bagels back on the rack. So now I am embarrassed, it's 5:30 in the afternoon, busy time of day at the grocery store. I can feel the eyes staring at us...and I ask "Where did you learn that and no, I won't get high!"
He says "MythBusters, you know that show on the Discovery Channel." Enough said. So I tried to explain that you would not get high. He didn't want to hear it. So even though I had no intentions of getting them, he made it very clear in a Z kind of fashion that he did not like them!!
Hi there,
ReplyDeleteThe things kids say... High! I would have throttled him, or just said something simple like, "yeah what ever..."

ReplyDeleteLOL. Kids say the darnedest things! The things you can learn by watching Mythbusters! I should be watching TV more often, imagine the things I could learn from it. LOL! Have a great Friday Diamond.
You have no I idea what comes out of hs mouth. He had a sleep over once and I took him and his friend to the store for snacks and they were talking about wet dreams and puberty!! Talk about wanting to crawl under a rock!
